The corporal’s body was found in the Winschoten area on April 16. The assumption is (see Poolse strijders over de Hondsrug) that he took his own life.
Suicide occurred more often, for example read the story of the paratrooper Mikiciuk. Remarkably, there is still a gravestone with his name in Winschoten, although he was transferred to Breda in 1960.
